Dropped Connections

We have a small network comprising 5 aironet 1100's and approx 30 users. The access-points are running IOS v12.3-4.

The config is fairly simple with 128 bit WEP being the only security.

All of the users have a problem with their connections to the wireless network dropping randomly. There does not appear to be any reason for this happening and there is nothing logged on the access points to indicate any problems. The problem is most noticeable when opening and saving large files from the server.

All clients are addressed statically, and are using Netgear WAG311 v1 pci cards.

Has anyone else come across a similar problem and have any ideas how to cure it.

Hi, I can see that it could be a problem with the roaming.

Could you see if there are a lot of roamings between the AP's, but the customers don't move to anywhere??

If this is the reason you have to make a site survey to reconfigure the transmition power of the AP, or to configure in the Wireless Card supplicant fot not doing the roaming in any way.

I hope it could be useful for u

Thanks

Sergio
