I'd like to know, on AP's EWC, whether still need lic as same as physical WLC. Thanks.

At the moment if the EWC is deployed independently licenses are not needed, but if you are planning for a distributed deployment model using DNAC you need AIR-DNA licenses. Please refer the above link for more info.
