Could anyone give me their thoughts on why I would see bursts of Energy Detect Defers occasionally? I will usually have about 20-40 per 5 second interval on my Cisco 1200 with IOS but I will have everyone drop off of the AP for 5-10 min. and during that time I will see 80,000 per 5 sec. interval. This will happen once or twice a day; usually around the same times (so far). I was able to run one carrier detect during this time and saw channel 1 (which is what I use) had about 60% usage at the moment(however they determine that, I do not know).
Would this type of issue be due to interference or could it be malicious? It seems to me from previous experience that interference from cordless phones or other access points would not cause this drastic of a problem.
If it is malicious the what steps should I take, considering that there is only some regularity for when it happens.
