FlexConnect Local Switching with Central DHCP

Hello everyone,

Right now we have a branch office with two APs connected to a WLC on central site. 2 SSIDs are broadcasted (one corporate, one guest)

The APs have a static address and the clients are getting an address from a DHCP in central site which is on a different subnet than the branch office LAN.

To avoid the useless WAN link bandwith usage for local traffic we would like to implement FlexConnect local switching for this remote site on Corporate SSID only.

Is it possible to still use the central DHCP for clients on the remote site even with local switching ?

Do I have to create a new VLAN on local switches and map it to the corporate SSID ?

With FlexConnect local switching, you do need to create a vlan for the wireless traffic or else it will use the AP vlan.  It's recommended to have a local dhcp, but not required so you will need to use ip helpers.  Also with local switching, your APs will need to be connected to a trunk port with the native vlan being the AP vlan.
