Hello everybody,
Short question 🙂
I want to update IOS on 5508 WLC from 7.0.x to 8.0.x (AP 1242 & 3502)
Should I upgrade the FUS also ? Why ? I need to argument to get larger time slot so i need a good reason...
Why is this needed, I read that the AP can get a strange behaviour ...
(already posted that many neighbour AP are on same channel and same Power, it might be the reason ! )
Thanks for any explanation

Hello,
If you´d like to hear some tangible facts, I saw WLCs start rebooting after AirOS upgrade with old FUS.

Hi,
Its not a must but Cisco recommend to install on WLCs.
Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Field Upgrade Software (FUS) is a special AES package that performs various system-related component upgrades. Cisco recommend that you install the FUS image to upgrade components such as the bootloader, field recovery image, FPGA/MCU, and other firmware to their latest respective versions.

Thanks
I read fr the recommendation but in reality what does it get better with it or worst without it...
I'll wait for few more answers, cause the production-cut time slot is not the same for IOS upgrade and FUS+IOS so I need a heavy argument.

OK subject closed, it will be difficult for me to justify 1h daily production-cut
thanks to all
