I have multiple Cisco 5508 controllers running 3502i AP's and I am on code 7.6.100. All of my controllers are using the 40Mhz channel width with channel bonding globally. For some reason, I have one of the controllers not allowing me to run 40Mhz channel width on 802.11a/n/ac. I can do this if I change it to custom, but I do not have to do this on other controllers. What am I missing?

Hi
Have you tried do this via CLI as shown below.
config 802.11a disable network y config advanced 802.11a channel dca chan-width-11n 40 config 802.11a enable network
You can verify using the below command

Thanks so much for the reply. I did this, but it appears the Channel Width here shows 40 Mhz. My issue is the RF Channel Assignment shows no bonded channels and still shows the Channel Width at 20 MHz.. Below is a screen shot of the output after running the commands.
MP-WLC-3) config>802.11a disable network
Disabling the 802.11a network may strand mesh APs. Are you sure you want to continue? (y/n)y

(MP-WLC-3) config>exit
(MP-WLC-3) >show advanced 802.11a channel

When going to the GUI and looking at the RF Channel Assignment, I see this:

Also, I am not seeing an attempt for auto channel assignment on this controller.

You should be on v7.6.130.0 for stability. Try to force a restart for RRM on the 5ghz
config 802.11a channel global restart
If that doesn't work, have you rebooted the WLC to see if "Last Auto Channel Assignment" changes?

I am on 7.6.100 and have actually had great results on all 12 controllers running this. All other controllers have the 40Mhz channel width showing globally, but not this one. I will try this Scott and see what happens. I have to schedule downtime, but will let you know.
Thanks,
Sean
