I'm trying to load a new IOS on a router but I get the following error: "Bad file magic number - cannot load bootflash." I found a bug, CSCdt63838, but it's for a C10000 Component. The workaround is below. Will this workaround work on a 3745 with CME installed? Will it affect the other files? Thanks.
Workaround: Perform the following:
a. copy bootflash:<file> to disk0:<file>
b. delete bootflash:<file> and squeeze bootflash:
c. copy disk0:<file> bootflash:<file>

Usuallt this means that the image on the bootflash is corrupt for some reason.
You might have to do a dir bootflash: and delete the image, then squeeze.
Next, load the image again and try rebooting.

Thanks for the info. I tried to squeeze the flash but it only gives me the option to squeeze slot0: and there is no slot 0. Is there any other option than changing the flash?
