Help getting an AIR-CAP1602I-A-K9 to connect to 3504 WLC

Hello.

I have a 3504 with 8.5.131.0 software. I have a few AIR-AP1815I-B-K9 connected but I am also trying to get my previous AIR-CAP1602I-A-K9 to connect. In the past the AIR-CAP1602I-A-K9 were connected to 2500 WLC.

Is it possible to convert the AIR-CAP1602I-A-K9 to work on the 3504 controller?

Thank You

If you are using 8.5.131.0 version on WLC then definately yes, you can join 1602 AP to 3540 WLC.

Check the matrix: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html

Thank You.
I can get the 1815i to join, but the AIR-CAP1602I-A-K9 will not play. Under the Statistics>AP Join it just show Not Joined, Is there anything I need to set on the PA to tell it to join this controller?
Thanks

It seems I might have asked that question too quickly.
I plugged the AP into the 3rd Port on the 3504 and it has now downloaded the software and is connected.
I will see how it works when connected via the VLANS

Thanks again

Glad it worked.

But i will not recommand to connect AP diretcly on WLC ports.

Thank you for your help. I have only plugged it into the WLC port just to get it to connect and update itself. which is pretty quick, then I put it into a tagged port and it it switches between the WLC depending on the High Availability settings.

Thank you

Paul.
