Hello,
I am having a hard time getting our new Cisco Catalyst C9105AXW-B Access Point up and running in general. I was under the impression that is have a built-in wireless controller (which is what we need. Not a separate controller) This is the first time I've configured this AP. I can't get the 9800-iosxe-wlc.bin EWC and ap1g8 files to uploaded to the AP. The documentation that I've been given were for a different model and the commands to use the TFTP is not the same for the C9105AXW. Can anyone please provide me with exact step-step details to deploying and using the WebUI for this particular model? Thank you in advance.

This AP does not support run the EWLC software. It can only join another WLC.

Hello,
Are you for certain about that? It is on the list of device that can use the EWC. I have a screen shot of the 9800-WLC readme.txt. It has the 9105 model on there which is ap1g8 file as shown below in the screenshot.

It is on the Cisco documentation so I believe this is true.

That list is all the APs which can join the EWC as subordinate APs, and includes the Wave 2 AC APs 18xx, 28xx, 38xx. This is clearly documented in the release notes: Supported Cisco Access Point Platforms
The following Cisco access points are supported in the Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller on Catalyst Access Points network. Note that the APs listed as primary APs can also function as subordinate APs.
Primary AP |
Subordinate AP |
---|---|
Cisco Catalyst 9115 Series Cisco Catalyst 9117 Series Cisco Catalyst 9120 Series Cisco Catalyst 9124AXE/I/D Cisco Catalyst 9130 Cisco Catalyst 9105AXI |
Cisco Aironet 1540 Series |
