How to make PoE switch providing full power to Cisco AP?

Hello Everyone!

Recently I changed switch from Cisco 2960 to Cisco C9200L which is capable of providing PoE+.

I newly setup the 2 Cisco APs(2802E) and connects to new switch, but AP couldn't get full power.

It is shown as 'Medium Power' from the WLC.

Did I miss something? Why it doesn't get full power from the switch?

I appreciate your comment!

POE+ will only work with CDP or LLDP so your switch must have one or the other enabled globally and on the AP ports.

If you're using CDP then the APs must also have CDP enabled on the LAN interface.

Heads up as not all PoE+ LLDP-capable appliances would work, they need to support LLDP-Med.

By instance, Meraki MX is a PoE+ appliance but does not grant PoE+ to APs as it does not support LLDP-Med (not covered under data sheet).
