How to onboard an AP onto existing config on a WLC

I haven't been able to find a clear answer on this online.

Here is the scenario:

In a building with existing APs already in the network, a new AP is being added.

The AP is plugged into a switch, and has already discovered the WLC through DHCP option 43. From there, how do you add the AP to the existing network config?

Thanks

Depends on how you configured , when it joins the WLC AP should get all the information.

here is a good guide on boarding process :

Once AP registered, it will get configuration from WLC.

If it is traditional AireoOS based WLC (3504/5520/8540 or even 5508/2504), there is a concept of AP group, how you control which AP advertises which SSID,etc. If you are using AP groups, then you have to assign this new AP to the correct AP group.

There is a "default-apgroup" already exist and all new AP will be part of that. If no special AP Groups configured, then automatically new AP will advertise SSIDs defined on your controller
