Hello,
I added a Lightweight AIR-CAP3702l-E-K9 in my test network and succesfully linked it to my WLC2504.
However, after a power restart of the whole thing infrastructure, it lost the config and the linkage to my controller.
I read on a discussion that the AP config could be saved from the WLC, but couldn't find where. Is there an option somewhere to do that ?
If I understood correctly, the AP should normally find the controller by itself after the startup by sending some broadcast messages, but I got some error messages saying it couldn't find one. So I had to manually configured it to make the link. The commands I write are :
- capwap ap ip address AP_IP_ADDRESS MASK
- capwap ap ip default-gateway WLC_IP_ADDRESS
- capwap ap controller ip address WLC_IP_ADDRESS
Does it have to do with the fact that the AP doesn't receive a DHCP address maybe ?
Thanks a lot for helping.
Neal

You can save the config of the WLC. Normally WLC pushes the config to AP.
AP to Join to WLC:
1. AP must get an IP address either via DHCP or statically.
2. There must be a way for AP to Join WLC . If both are in same subnet then no need for it else you have to assign a process (DNS, Option 43, etc...)

Saving the config on the WLC worked.
Thanks a lot !
