Hi Guys,
We have faced hardware failure on our wireless controller, but we have GUI backup.
Need to know what is the procedure to upload GUI backup to new fresh Wireless controller box.
Model: - AIR-CT2504-K9
Awaiting your valuable support.

'GUI restore' is not an applicable term , you need to restore a backed configuration to the new controller.

Hi Marce,
Is that mean do we need a CLI backup? But we don't have.
How we can proceed? Please advice.

- There is no such thing as a cli-backup either, the you can make a configuration-backup of an existing controller to an external tftp repository, the configuration-backup (file) is an internal format. So the only question that applies is : do I have a (previous) configuration-backup available for restore. (?)

Hi Marce,
do I have a (previous) configuration-backup available for restore. (?) Yes we have.
The question is how we can upload it to the new controller?

- Perform basic network settings on the new controller, then restore the backed-up configuration.

when we get the console connection of the new device can use the same IP details, device details that we have earlier?
if not will it affect when we upload the backup to the device?

Thanks, Marce,
Then what about the licenses? How we can re-host the licenses? As per my knowledge, the licenses are attached with the serial number.
Please advice.

1. Is there a backup of the config taken from the broken controller?
2. Is the replacement controller on the same firmware version as the broken controller?

Hi Leo,
1. Is there a backup of the config taken from the broken controller? We have a GUI backup of the configuration before the controller got to break.
2. Is the replacement controller on the same firmware version as the broken controller? Do we need to match the firmware version of the new controller?
Please advice

Hi Leo,
Do we need to match the firmware version of the new controller before installing the backup?
