Hey everyone,
I am attempting ot access the GUI web interface of cisco aironet 1242AG Access Points. We are using Air Fortress as our ACL and auth. appliance. I have port 80 allowed open for management on the APs.
I took over this role from an admin who has since left, and I am not able to access the GUI. The Username/PW prompts however the PW I use to telnet into the APs is not working. I have also tried all default known passwords.
Is there a configuration change I can make on the AP, that would affect the username/pw login for the GUI?

When it fails, is it because the username/password is rejected, or the AP stops responding?
If it stops responding:
Is it possible that your AP is trying to use "HTTPS:", meaning that you'd also need to open port 443? (or other designated port).

Thanks for the reply. The APs aren't set to use port 443. Port 80 is the active port. I spoke with the admin who is no longer with us and she informed me she did use a different password.

Do your Access Points run Read/Write SNMP? If so, tools like Solar Winds can be used to extract the config from the AP. Once you've got it, you can edit the password, and re-apply the amended config to the AP.
If you've lots of APs, and presuming they've all got the same password, you could do the above, but instead of changing the password, crack it.
