I want to add some 2600 series AP's to our existing deploment of 1131 AP's

Does anyone have some experience with this sort of staged upgrade to new model AP's?  my question is more about compatibility and roaming between AP's, not so much about the controllers.

It's the same thing.  The same radiating patterns.  The same PoE power draw.

If your current 1130 setup has good roaming, then all you need is to upgrade your controller firmware and you should be able to swap out the 1130 for the 2600.

Leo is right... Just to add though, 802.11n clients tend to stick to 802.11n AP's and could produce roaming issues due to them being sticky. They will eventually roam when they loose connection to an 802.11n AP. You might think about disabling 802.11n until you have fully migrated all the access points in a building or roaming area.
