Interference from another wireless network.

Could anyone suggest the best way to avoid the interference to the wireless network from an outside wireless network. When a sniffer was connected these networks were found to be operating under different channels but we could see interference from these networks.

The only way that you could avoid the interference is to either move your wireless APs a little bit further out of the way of the outside network if possible or see if the administrator of the other networks will change the transmit power settings on their divices to a lower setting. Unfortunately any device running in the 2.4 Ghz range will cause some interference.

What channel are you on and what channel do you see the other network on?

for 802.11b there is only 3 non overlapping channels 1 6 and 11 you need 2 channels separation or they will interfer
