Internet Bandwidth issue with WLANs.

Hello Everyone

I have a strange issue with WLANs. All our APs are in flexconnect configuration.

We have staff SSID and Guest SSID.

Staff SSID is using 802.1x authentication

Guest is using WPA2 authentication

We have 500mbps internet pipe

when we run speed test from Guest SSID (in peak hours) we get around 250 to 320 mbgps speed

while when we run speed test from Staff SSID we get only 52 to 55 mbps speed.

We have tried to create a test WLAN and get the same results when we assign the VLAN of Staff ssid.

I am wondering what can cause this issue. we have simple setup it is a layer2 switch connected to controller with trunk interface. no per WLAN bandwidth or per AP limit configured.

Any help will be really appreciated in this regard.

Thank you

Do you get the same results if you connect a laptop to the switch in each VLAN?

Just to add, you should look at what radio band you the device is connected to.  5GHz and 40MHz channel width or higher would provide more bandwidth than 20MHz channel width which is default on 2.4GHz and 5GHz if not set higher.
