I have a Linksys X2000 modem. Why does my internet go down several times a day? My provider is Century Link and I have already called them. They say all is well on their end, so it must be my modem. I reset and sometimes it pops right back and other times it takes an hour or more. I am really frustrated.

What is connection status appear in your modem? connected or not?
Are you connecting from wired or wireless side when you check internet connectivity? is it same problem from both wired and wireless? test both please and confirm.
If it is only from wireless side it could be interference/noise or any other RF/802.11 issues.
If it is in both sides you need to check connectivity status on the modem and possibly check the logs and see if there is anything useful.
Consider also change the connection (phone,WAN) to the modem. connect from some other where to eliminate any cabling issues with the phone network.
