Interpret Current TxRateSet under "Client Properties"

Trying to interpret Current TxRateSet on "client properties". Running a 9800 WLC with 9120i AP connected.

AP runs 20Mhz channels on 5Ghz

Can see a client with Current TxRateSet m11 ss1
Client capable of 802.11ax

I interpret this as MCS11 with 1 spatial stream.

This should be a datarate of 143.4.
(referencing to mcsindex.com)

I checked the client (Windows) with netsh wlan show int

This shows a datarate of 287 (rx/tx). This is a datarate achievable with 2 spatial streams, not 1.

Is the WLC showing wrong spatial stream or am I interpreting the "Current TxRateSet" info wrong?

I also see "Confidence Level" under "client properties" with a value of "0" for this spesific client. What does "Confidence Level" mean?

It's bit complex and confusing to assess the correct one.

Along with MCS Index, have you checked the following link which generally gives detailed calculations?

There are two things here to understand about the current rate you are seeing.

First of all, Catalyst 9800 has a cosmethic bug (CSCvx54426) and it always shows maximum rate m11 ss1 rate for 802.11ax clients. This has not been solved yet on any of the current codes.

For how to interpret the rate you can go to http://mcsindex.com/ and match your channel width value and guard interval (which use to be 0.8 by default) for MCS Index 11 (your M value), Spatial Stream 1 (your SS value).
