iPhones unstable on wifi

Hi Folks,

I am running EWC on 9115AXI Access Points. I randomly see that Apple iPhones are losing their Internet connection while they are sill on the wifi network. As a workaround I have to turn the wifi on the iPhone off an on again. This happens also when iPhones stayed really next to an AP. I don't see this kind of issue with Android devices.

I had this experience already with 1832i Mobility Express and also with 2802i Mobility Express.

In every setup (1830, 2802, 9115) I setup best practices on the ME or EWC controller with no success.

Anyone an idea what might be the issue?

Thanks, @Rich R.  That EEM will also work.

Hi all,

some of my APs have poe injector so turning off swtich port was not an option.

ended up scheduling daily reboot with clogin (Rancid) and so far so good.....

will update once a new firmware comes out to check if we can fix the problem without rebooting the APs daily...

thanks,

Michele

That is not going to be happening any time soon.  Daily AP reboot is going to be THE only workaround.  Cisco TAC/developers will be pushing for daily reboot because it frees them from fixing something that a workaround could not achieve.

Is it possible to schedule a daily reboot via EWC gui or cli?

I tried from EWC with Power Management Profiles and Calendar schedule but wans't able to achieve an AP reboot.
it seems you can turn off and on 5Ghz radio but a quick test doesn't worked as expected so I switched to clogin\rancid that is really quick to set up and allow a simple reboot with a crontab.

bye,

Michele
