hello everyone, we have over 10 APs which controlled by the WLC, AP model is CAP-1602E and using more than 1 year.

because the company its more bigger, and we added some APs on WLC recently. the new APs model is CAP-3702E, but we found out the light on APs it's different !

the CAP-1602E light is steady in green (NOT blink), but the new APs (CAP-3702E) light is steady in BLUE (NOT blink) !

I want to know why ?

it's very odd, because the 1602 and 3702 it's same configure. (and it's seems the 3702 which in blue light is WORK AS WELL AS THE 1602)

i just set the AP's IP and gateway, and set the WLC ip address. nothing more...

whats the bule light means ...?

BTW, i using LWAPP and CAPWAP command to config the ap ( IP, dateway and wlc address).  any different ? because i found it work as well.

thanks lots!!!!!

Just to add... Cisco used a different led on the 1602/1702 to keep the cost down. The other models use the "normal" leds that turn blue when a client is associated to the AP and green when zero clients are associated.

Different APs have a different meaning of the LEDs. They are typically shown in the "Getting started guides":

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/1600/quick/guide/ap1600getstart.html#pgfId-37791

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/3700/quick/guide/ap3700getstart.html#pgfId-37791

So everything is fine for your APs.

Regarding LED status colors, it is expected that there will be small variations in color intensity and hue from unit to unit. This is within the normal range of the LED manufacturer’s specifications and is not a defect.
