Learn Client IP Address feature in Cisco wlc 9800

We have a cisco wlc 9800 still in a testing environment.

We have implemented flexconnect with local switching. I am trying to configure the Learn Client IP Address feature in this wlc, which is available in my existing vwlc running 8.10.

According to the manual this feature should be under WLAN/Advanced. I'm looking and I can't find it.

Any help is appreciated

Which software release is running on the 9800?
As far as I know they haven't the same features as the "old" AireOS based WLCs.

It's running 16.12.

I'm not sure the feature is there, but in the notes in the configuration guide for the version I'm running I see this:

"For the FlexConnect local switching, central authentication deployments, if there
is a passive client with a static IP address, it is recommended to disable the Learn

Client IP Address feature under the WLAN > Advanced tab."

The problem I'm having is that the clients show in IP Learn stage for a long time, even though ISE is seeing a correct IP for them. Wonder if this is the issue and I need that setting checked. From my understanding this feature is needed when using flexconnect local switching and local DHCP server, so the wlc can be aware of what IP the client is receiving.

Can you try it on the CLI?
show wlan summary ! this shows the configured SSIDs and the ID
config wlan flexconnect learn-ipaddr <here the ID> disable

If it doesn't work, then it's maybe not (yet) built in and an error in the documentation. In that case I suggest to open a TAC.

Thank you, I did, I don't see anything in the CLI.

I've been looking through documentations and I don't see that command anywhere or what is the feature replacing it.

I can't open a TAC case yet, I have to wait till we have a contract.

Then I sadly can't help you further. I fear it's a documentation bug.
