Hello everyone.
I am quite new at wireless so please bear with me.
I am running a Cisco WLC in my environment and I have bought 4 new Lightweight APs.
So I wanted to know how will lightweight APs join WLC.
After surfing over internet I found few methods(L3 broadcast, DNS, DHCP 43 & Hardcode method), so I want to follow hardcode method I just wanted to confirm that after typing these 3 command on APs, these APs will be able to join WLC?
AP# capwap ap ip address 192.168.3.50 255.255.255.0
AP# capwap ap ip default-gateway 192.168.3.150
AP# capwap ap controller ip address 192.168.3.150
Thanks

- Depends , check ap-model/vs controller-model + software versions with :

Normally yes it will join.
Make sure you also configured the AP & WLC connected switchport correctly.

Hello,
Please check following,
Access point connected switch port configuration.(proper vlan or not)
And reachability of the controller from access point connected switch.
Try pinging the wlc-IP address from CLI of the AP.
Make sure whether the correct country code enabled in wlc.
Verify the licenses availability in the wlc.

Anjana
