Limitation for EOIP tunnel for WLC5520 v8.3.121.0

Hi,

I can't find any document showing the maximum number of EOIP Tunnel for WLC 5520 and v8.3.121.0.

During the testing, the maximum limit is 24 foreign controller. anyone have an idea if this is a limitation of the device? Before in 5508, we can have around 70.

I appreciate any feedback related to this.

Thank you,

Jaccobb

Hello,

According to Cisco docs, this remains the same. Usually this kind of information comes related with Enterprise Mobility and not related to a specific product.

Although you are using version 8.3 and this doc ponts to 8.1, I don´t believe this has changed.

Anchor Controller Sizing and Scaling

A single wireless LAN controller can support EoIP tunnels from up to 71 foreign controllers within the enterprise.
The selection of the guest anchor controller is a function of the amount of guest traffic, as defined by the number of active guest client sessions, or as defined by the uplink interface capacity on the controller, or both.
Total throughput and client limitations per guest anchor controller are as follows:
2504 WLC = 1 Gbps and 1000 guest clients
5508 WLC = 8 Gbps and 7,000 guest clients
5520 WLC = 20Gbps and 20,000 guest clients
Catalyst 6K WiSM-2 = 20G bps and 15,000 guest clients
WLC 7500 = 10 Gbps and 20,000 guest clients
8510 WLC = 10 Gbps and 20,000 guest clients
8540 WLC = 40 Gbps and 64,000 guest clients

Actually already found the solution. Problem is that if you use the same mobility Group name has a limit of 24.In order for you to achieve the 71 number, you need to have a different mobility group name. Thanks anyway.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing!
