I have a Aironet Lap1141n that has the default firmware on it. I am changing the firmware to c1140-k9w7-tar.152-4.JB5.tar so it can be used as a standalone unit.
My question is since this is a .tar file how or what is the best way to do this? I am using xmodem to do it btw. If I put that file on the AP is there a way to extract it? Or should i extract it before loading it to the AP using 7zip and just sending the c1140-k9w7-mx.152-4.JB5 file?
Thank you

If your AP has a mode button/reset button, you can use the following method. You have to rename your image "c1140-k9w7-tar.default" to use in this method.
