puchasing: AIR-CT5508-12-K9

Choice A:

(10) AIR-CAP3502i-x-K9

Choice B:

(10) AIR-CAP3502e-x-K9

(10) AIR-ANT2547V-N

Choice C:

(10) AIR-CAP3502e-x-K9

(30) AIR-ANT5135SDW-R=

(30) AIR-ANT2422SDW-R=

Is the only thing that I would gain would be the aesthetics using the 3502e w/AIR-ANT2547V-N over a 3502i?

Is there a better omnidirectional antenna(s) for indoor use than those listed above?

All advise appreciated.

Thanks,

J

Won't work because the ANT2547V is a TWO-IN-ONE.  A single antenna can do A/B/G/N.  So sticking this into the 3502e is sure way of wasting money.  I personally wouldn't even recommend it.  The 2547V is for the 1550 and possibly the AP801.

What are you trying to do???

The 3502i has two internal antennas:  The 2.4Ghz is a 4 dBi gain, omni-directional and the 5.0 Ghz is a 3.0 dBi gain, omni-directional.   5135 is a 5Ghz dipole antenna with a peak gain of 3.5 dBi and the 2422 is a 2.4Ghz with a peak gain of 2.2 dBi.

Have you compared the price of the 3502i vs the 3502e?  Next add the cost of the antenna

Finally, without a proper wireless site survey putting an external antenna can cause more issues than intended.

My choice is the the 3502i.

Would you still use 3502i in a manufacturing / warehouse environment or go with the 3502e?

That's a loaded question.

The only reason why you want to use, for example, a 1250, 1260 or 3500e/3500p is because you want to use external antenna.

If your warehouse has a wide-open space and you can hang the AP from 10-15 from the ground, then (in a case-to-case basis) yes, an AP with external antenna is very suitable.

However, if you have, say a warehouse or manufacturing and you want the AP to be in an area where there are high or tall storage racks then getting an AP that supports an external antenna is pretty much useless.  You might want to fire back that there are "thumbnail" antenna and rubber ducky antenna but you have to consider the antenna gain of each, plus cost as against the cost of an AP with internal antenna.
