Hello
on the 3750 (WS-C3750G-48PS with 12.2(25)SEE2)Switch we have several different type of LWAPP accesspoint. In the cdp neighbor table in the switch are just the "old" airespace (1010/1020) ap with the right name visible, the 1131/1242 shows just "ap". We have a 2006 controller with 4.0.155.5.
Sounds for me like a bug, but perhaps has some other in this community more information about it.
Thanks for helping
Oliver

Hi Oliver,
What is the name which you have configured for 1131 and 1242 AP?

Hello Ankur
ncwt-prd-ap06 (1242) and ncwt-prd-ap05 (1131)
The 1010 name is ncwt-prd-ap03 which will with cdp displayed right.
best regards
Oliver

Hi Oliver,
I will verify the same in my setup though I don't think it could be a bug on controller but is it possible for you the sniff the port on 3750 on which AP1242 and AP1131 is connected and check the CDP packtes in sniffer as what name it is carrying in CDP packet. Also if possible attach the sniffer and sh cdp nei output from the switch.
You can only sniff rx traffic on 3750 switch.
Regards,
Ankur

Have you tried rebooting the APs after renaming them? I have seen the APs give mixed results in show power inline and show cdp neighbor after their initial code downloads, but when I reboot them one last time it seems to be more consistent.
