Hi everyone,
I plan to use C9800-L as a Radius Server with a local user database created manually on it.
However, based on the specifications, I am unsure of the maximum number of users that will be supported.
Can anyone please help answer this question?
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm not aware of a hard upper limit existing or being documented, however considering that older non IOS-XE WLC's supported 12.000 local user accounts, my reasonable expectation is that also with IOS-XE WLC 9800 you should be able to configure thousands of local user accounts.
So, I don't see any deployment hitting a limit, given it exits as hardcoded; also, if you're thinking of having tens of thousands of user accounts, clearly you should rather perform a RADIUS integration and keep all your users in the RADIUS database or another database that RADIUS server integrates with.
Thanks,
Cristian.

Hi @Mark Elsen
The term "Radius server" might not be correct, but according to this guide, can I provide authentication for clients by username/password just through the WLC? Is that correct?
