i have existing Aironet AP in my environment and have plans to add Meraki MR44 AP side by side.
would there be any issues for them to work in bridge mode so that both can work in the same office using the same set of SSID for my clients ?

Hi First of all there will be no seamless roaming between Meraki and Cisco environments.
Bridge mode in Meraki is some what similar to Flex Connect mode in Cisco, If your AP's are in local mode then you will be looking at a complete redesign or you may have to bring in a Meraki MX as a Wireless concentrator.
