I have to migrate a pair of 1522AG access points, a RootAP and a MeshAP. Both are currently associated to a WiSM1 running 7.0 code. I need to migrate them to a 5508 running 8.0.140.0 code. What is the best approach to ensure that both access points associate to the upgraded WLC without stranding the MeshAP?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hi,
You are gonna loose the mesh network for a period.
One thing that could speed up the process is AP image pre-download.
Also, of course, add AP mac address on the 5508 mac filter.
If you are playing with vlan on the mesh network, make sure wlc 5508 is able to handle it.

Thanks for the response! We elected to keep these two APs on the WiSM--they are slated for hardware replacement soon.
