I'm currently running an AIR-CT5520 with RTU licenses and planning to migrate to a CW9800M controller. Since the 9800 uses Smart Licensing, how can I migrate or convert my existing RTU licenses for use on the new platform? Any official migration process or guidance would be appreciated.

AP models as follow

Cisco Catalyst 9120AXI-K
Cisco Catalyst 9105AXW-K
AIR-AP1832I-Z-K9
AIR-AP2802I-Z-K9
AIR-AP3802I-B-K9
1562
1542

Thanks!

              3. Change older controllers fornew ones(e.g. C9800):

    • As stated before, the use of Smart Licensing in this controller is mandatory
    • All supported APs must be bought with the new licensing model (DNA).
    • Regarding the older licenses (perpetual in WLC), these must be migrated to a subscription license (DNA), buying "AIR-DNA licenses" and asking the partner for migration credits (promotion).
    • The licenses will be taken from the pools defined in the smart account, for new APs and for migrated ones. The smart licensing configuration for this new controller can be found in Cisco's Guide

                                  Work with your partner/reseller to accomplish the migration
