I have a question to migrate a customer from a 2106 controller to a 2504 controller.
Can I use the configuration file with both controllers having the same version?
Or is there another way not having to do it again manually?
The old configuration is OK, only the hardware is end of sale.
Thanks in advance.

You might want to re create the certificate in the WLC or you can do this.
Erase the WLC again and go through the startup wizard. Then when the WLC boots and you can https or ssh to it make a backup of the config. Now take the file and open it up in notepad and also open up the original file that you had uploaded to that WLC. Copy and paste the commands that you need to the new file. Don't overwrite the certificate part. Save and upload to the WLC and see if that works.

That's what I thought late, but I can't explain why I can't telnet to the WLC. Telnet doesn't use any certificate..
I'll try this in the weekend.
Tnx.

Something might of got corrupted in the upload. That is why I say to erase and go through the startup and test first. Make sure you can telnet or ssh along with https before you edit and upload the file.

the last option you mentioned works fine.
From another computer I can ssh to the controller and manage it by GUI.
Tnx.
