mobility controller and agent

I configured a 3850 switch as a mobility controller and a 3650 switch as a mobility agent, and a light weight AP 2700 joined with no issue.

the AP joined the agent and i can push the config to it through the agent only and i cannot see it or configure it through the controller.

Is there any way that i can configure the AP via the controller ?

Can you post your MC/MA config? It sounds like you haven't set your MA to run off the MC (hierarchy). The APs should all appear on the MC only as well as the config only required there.

Thanks

Ric

wireless management interface Vlan777
ap group default-group
end

Thanks.

Have you activated the licensing on the MC?

What software versions are you running on each?

I assume you have restarted each unit once enabling one as MC and one as MA?

Can you do the following show commands on each:

show wireless mobility summary

show ap summary

show license right-to-use summary

Ta,

the controller is on evaluation license it can take 50 APs and its expiring in 90 days.

the version is 3.6.6 on both and yes i restarted both.

i dont have access to the switches right now but for show ap summary on controller is nothing and on the agent i can see the ap, and show wireless mobility summary i can see the controller and agent as (up up) on both and only on the agent i can see the ap and on the controller the ap field is blank.

Just to test for now I would do the following on your MC and alter it later if/when required.

license right-to-use activate apcount 50

I will try to test on my IOS-XE devices later as I can't verify anything atm either!
