Logging into WLC admin web interface using chrome results in endless login prompts, untill the max requests exceeded error occurs or cancelling (resulting in a 404) and retrying in a new tab.
Is the mobility express / WLC admin interface now properly supported in Chrome?

Yes it works well with chrome!
1. Update your chrome version
2. Also check if you running stable version on ME AP/WLCs.

I am running:
Chrome Vesrion: Version 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
AP SW: 8.8.111.0 or 8.5.140.0
Please also check the username/password again, may be you are entering the wrong ones!!!

No, I am most definately not entering the wrong password. I would have logged into this system hundreds of times.
There appears to be some cookie bug that only occurs in Chrome. The password is saved in Chrome so I know it is not wrong.
The way I usually log in is by holding down the enter key in the login dialog, which eventually forces it to the max requests exceeded error, after which it actually logs in, with the same (correct password).

Ok.
Did you try to reset chrome!! If not then try again.
Also check if there is any updated chrome version available, if yes then do it and then relaunch ?

The problem is reproducible on other machines and I am already running the latest version of Chrome. These obvious suggestions are not helpful.
There is clearly a problem with the Mobility Express software.
It is astounding after all this time that Cisco still can't manage to make a web interface for such high-end and expensive products that isn't such a piece of junk.

Then I would recommand to use stable software version on cisco APs.
