Mobility express - Roaming

Hello,

i'm using AP3802I as ME and AP2702I joined to the controller thru unmanaged switch, coverage is amazing but the users get always drop while roaming between the two AP's 

 

64 bytes from 10.10.20.4: icmp_seq=49 ttl=255 time=111.947 ms

64 bytes from 10.10.20.4: icmp_seq=50 ttl=255 time=32.787 ms

64 bytes from 10.10.20.4: icmp_seq=51 ttl=255 time=1.653 ms

64 bytes from 10.10.20.4: icmp_seq=52 ttl=255 time=2.339 ms

Request timeout for icmp_seq 53

Request timeout for icmp_seq 54

Request timeout for icmp_seq 55

Request timeout for icmp_seq 56

Request timeout for icmp_seq 57

64 bytes from 10.10.20.4: icmp_seq=58 ttl=255 time=4.251 ms

64 bytes from 10.10.20.4: icmp_seq=59 ttl=255 time=4.418 ms

64 bytes from 10.10.20.4: icmp_seq=60 ttl=255 time=4.221 ms

 

please advise me how i can improve the roaming to avoid any packets drop while making call

what code these devices running ?

 

what is the end device? Laptop? check any Driver Upgrade available for wifi nic card.

 

check if you have any other device - is this having the same issue?

end device is Macbook Pro and some apple and android mobile's

i tried to change the Transmit Power from low to high but it gives me the same results.

What encryption are you using also? I have always seen some drops when roaming no matter what. There are other features like 802.1r, 802.1k and 802.1v that can help, but doesn’t work if devices do kit support those features. Even with those, you might see some drops. MacBook doesn’t support 802.1r but iPhones do.

Well the client and ap has to go through a 4-way handshake during a roam also. So you will see some ping drops. Look at the features I mentioned earlier and check if your devices support them and or test with those features enabled.
