Mobility Express upgrade

Ahmed Nasser
Visitor

Hello
I need an advice

If we have a mobility express controller with 8.4.100.0 software version.
can we upgrade directly to 8.5.1.35 or we can't? without looking for the upgrade path?

Thanks,

Hi

 Yes you can.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/8-5/Enterprise-Mobility-8-5-Design-Guide/Enterprise_Mobility_8-5_Deployment_Guide/chapter13.pdf

Interoperability • AireOS® Release - Recommended is AireOS® 8.4.100.0 or later.

-If I helped you somehow, please, rate it as useful.-

You can but the most important version is WHY?
8.5.1.35 is a Cisco internal beta version.

Maybe he made a typo and meant 8.5.135.0 (which was released some days ago)? 🙂

Ahmed,
Always refer to the release notes for the image. The release notes will provide the upgrade path details. Typically one train higher is a direct upgrade, but the release notes will also point out open and closed issues.
