Monitoring WLC9800 AP in LibreNMS

Has anyone here successfully added new MIBs to LibreNMS for monitoring of access points?  If yes, could you porvide a detailed walkthrough of what you did.

Currently adding WLC9800 to LibreNMS detects the SSIDs, but does not detect the APs connected to the WLC.

Hi @marce1000 ,

I have already seen those documents. What I was hoping for is that someone already had done this and created a walkthrough so I could save time and not have to read through a bunch of documentation and then create the necessary yaml and / or php files from scratch.

Also from that link:
If you don’t want/cannot do it yourself, you should at least provide the required information :
https://docs.librenms.org/Support/FAQ/#faq20 50
This would allow somebody else to do the work for you.

checkmk added support for 9800 APs and clients a while back so you might want to look at the detail of their check code: https://checkmk.com/werk/12791

Sorry for the late reply.  I got this partially working using the links that @marce1000 provided.  Still struggling with getting the AP count to show correctly, but I am now seeing number of connected clients to the different SSIDs and network usage for the different APs.  it is a little strange that I am seeing the APs and Data usage but the count is not showing...must be something with the graphing?

  - Could be due to some interaction fault with the 9800  or setup in librenms ; make sure that the software version on the 9800 is up to date too, for instance : also note https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvv44330?rfs=iqvred

We are running a newer version than what is mentioned as the fixed release in that bug.  I am leaning more towards that I have an issue with the code that I have added to LibreNMS.

AP count is working fine for me on 17.9:
cLApGlobalAPConnectCount from CISCO-LWAPP-AP-MIB .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.3.35
