Multiple SSID (problem with Guest-mode)

I'm currently setting up a multiple SSID wireless network in my office, I wanted to keep one SSID as Guest-mode, and one for internal user. each will connect to different VLAN.

The problem is, whenever i have both SSID setup inside the AP, all i could connect is the Guest-mode SSID, i can't even find the other SSID. Is the noraml, or i miss something.

Any reply would be really appreicate

The situation you're experiencing is normal. When multiple SSIDs are enabled on an access point, only one SSID will be broadcasted (beaconed). The other SSIDs exist, but will only operate when requested by a client. This means that in order for a client to connect to a non-broadcasted SSID, it must be configured to send a probe-request for the non-broadcasted network.

The problem here is that the native WinXP wireless utility does not allow for such a configuration, you'll have to use a third-party utility (such as cisco's ACU) on the client to connect.
