I have several AP's that all connect to a WLC just fine. There are some AP's that have lots of clients though. Most of my APs have 3 to 9 clients which shouldn't be too bad. One of the APs has 23 clients on it, however. How do I configure load balancing so the AP doesn't accommodate so many clients. Also how does load balancing work? Maybe I don't understand what it's suppose to do.

The wireless clients make the ultimate decision which AP to join.
Wireless NICs with default firmware (aka firmware never been updated) are known to be "sticky" and will not roam.
Update the wireless NIC drivers and see if it makes any improvements.

Thanks, I will try this. I do see some settings for load balancing on the WLC any of those need adjusting? Also my aps broadcast our corporate wifi on 2ghz and 5ghz but with the same name. Will that cause a problem with the clients?

I would never "advertise" the name of the company as the SSID for security reason.
