Need to verify if WLC is passing the DHCP request Debug logs attached.

Hi Everyone,

Client PC is not getting IP address.

AP----Layer 2 Switch -------ASA(DHCP server)

AP and WLC are connected to same layer 2 switch.

Client can connect to WLC interface but gets no ip address.

ASA is acting as DHCP server.

AP is assigned static IP.

Gateway of AP and WLC is ASA.

I have attached debug from WLC.

Seems there is DHCP packet drop.

Regards

Mahesh

Hi Mahesh,

1. Did you put the DHCP IP address in interface configuration of WLC ?

if yes then Can you try to disable DHCP proxy and try again:

How to disable :

Controller > Advanced > DHCP and uncheck the Enable DHCP proxy box.

Hi Sandeep,

I will check that and will disable it if needed.

Will test later today and put new debug logs

Hi Sandeep,

Yes there was DHCP IP address under AP Manager interface.

Also Proxy was enabled.

I only disabled the proxy and after that PC was getting IP address from ASA.

Should I remove DHCP server ip address from AP Manager interface?

Can you please explain me how proxy was not stopping the PC to get ip address from ASA?

Regards

Mahesh
