Hi Guys

Do you know whether Cisco are planning on designing an ISR that can also benefit from the Office Extend functionality?

Many Thanks

Hi,

Do you mean a Wireless Interfaces inside the Router that can act as an LWAPP/CWAPP AP in HREAP mode?

If so, yes the new ISR routers like 881W,

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/prod_models_comparison.html

and

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/prod_video_datasheet_800routers.html

These new ISR routers come with AP801 inside that can either have an Autonomous Image or a Unified Image.

The unified Image aka LWAPP or CAPWAP image give the possibility to give the HREAP mode to the AP inside the ISR.

Hope this answers your question

Thanks
Serge

No.  Office Extend is the "exclusive" domain of the 1130/1140 and the WLC 5508.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/solutions/collateral/ns340/ns517/ns430/solution_overview_c22-523307.html

If my understand is incorrect then can someone from Cisco please update the documents?

LeoLaohoo is correct. There is currently no OfficeExtend available of the ISR APs.

I agree it would make some sense from a use-case perspective but I didn't hear anything like this in the near future.

Thanks for the ratings.

I'm very disappointed why 3500 does not support OfficeExtend.

OE is indeed only on 1130 and 1140, not sure why I started speaking about HREAP :-)
