old 802.11 wifi network alongside a new 802.11g network

Hi,

I'm looking at installing a new 802.11g based wifi network. However in the same facility there's a very old (from 1999) 802.11? network running. Don't know much about this old wifi network, but any idea's on whether this old network would cause an issue for the new 802.11g network?

Only a quick spectrum analysis would tell you for sure, but I'm betting that it will be using the same 2.4GHz channels.

You'll need to give more info other than the perceived date of the network installation. Any model numbers? What spectrum is it using, encryption, authentication?
