Hello,
I have a question for you to solve controller's problem.

I have just arrived in my company and I owe parameter a controller to understand the functioning and the credit note one of the change, because the former IT specialist has me to leave of documentation on the configuration.

I thus parametrized the second as before, the only difference between both is that the one in version 6.0.199.4 and the new in 7.0.252.0. During a test to see if the new is functional I have to disconnect the first one and put the second. The APs is recognized well but in "Not Joined" with Reason For last Unsuccessful Attempt : maximum number of APs reached limit for we Interface.

I would have forget a parameter or a manipulation on the WLC or APs.

Sorry for my english
Thanks a lot,

Hi @SCAL

Had you activated the WLC license under MANAGEMENT Tab ?

Hi,

Adding to Flavin's response. Please share us the "show license summary" output from the WLC.

This error will be printed when the AP count license was fully utilised. Meaning, if you have 10 AP support license active & in-use on WLC and when a 11th AP tries to join the Controller it will be failed with this failure message.

Regards,

Divya

Thank you very much of your fast answers.

Hi Flavio
I have just looked in the tab at management but I do not see a license(Bachelor's degree) in the menus.

Hi Divya
I do not find of " show license summary " and at present I have only 5 APs to connect on the controller and 5 are with the same message.

Thx both of you two

So you have two controllers?  You can look at the main screen in the GUI and it should show you how many supported license is available on the unit.

Those controllers are really old and the model number will tell you also how many AP’s it supports as this is hard set.

If the AP’s do not join, then either there is a configuration issue or that controller isn’t functioning properly.

Hello,

Yes I have two Controller the first one in functioning support 12 APs (but I have that 5 APs to connect) and the second in test support 6 APs and thanks to the S/N I know that he dates 2010.

The problem is there, it is that I made tabs and slim and both are to configure exactly similar and I do not know where from comes my problem.

PS: the controller is not in the good date it can he play?

Thx

Hello,

Would it be possible to make a saving of the configuration + Sotfware Version to put it then the new?

Hello,

I managed to copy the configuration of my current WLC towards the new but it changes nothing APs stay "not joined".

I really need help please

Hello,

I managed to copy the configuration of the current WLC towards the new but APs are always there "not joined", is that there is a manipulation to make the WLC for activated APs?

I really need help please.

Not joined status usually comes with a reason. If you click on the AP you can get further logs and chances are you find the exactly reason.

But if not, then there are few thing you should see.

 WLC date/time

 License in active status

Enough license

Mac filter( if outdoor model)

certificates

Hello,

I build a parallel network to be able to test more easily my WLC. I managed to protect the configuration of my WLC and to put her on the new.

I made test with new AP, she is recognized well in the DHCP but the controller does not see him.

I don't know what to do anymore is that somebody in an idea pleases.

Best Regard

Try to console the AP and catch some logs.

Also, enable some debug on the wlc.

Did you validated all the item I suggest on my previous post?

Hello,

I was able to re-verify the reason status "Not joined" because this message appear when I switch both WLC, since I only made out a will in the parallel network.
In the parallel network the WLC sees nothing, MONITOR > Statistics > AP Join is empty.

I joined a file log of the starting up of an AP.
I do not understand, it's as if the WLC had 0 license.

I’m sorry for my English is not very good.

Best Regard
