PI 1.4 Copy and Replace function?

Wes Schochet

Hi All-

I am starting a project to replace several hundred 1131 APs with new 3702 APs.  I am trying to develop a procedure for doing this in PI 1.4.  The "copy and replace" AP function seems pretty cumbersome.  Perhaps I am doing this wrong?

I search for the old AP, select copy and replace from the drop down and then click Go.  The list that comes up is all APs that already seem to have map locations.  I don;t see my replacement AP, which is now registered to a controller, in the list.

The documentation on this is not very clear.  It's be great if there was some way to do it from the command line.  If anyone has done this successfully, I'd sure appreciate some info on how to do it!

Thanks,

Wes

Hi Wes,

Did you upgrade your prime to 1.4.1 which is the official PI version to support 3700 & 1530 APs. Here is the release notes specifying this

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/1.4/release/notes/cpi_rn_141.html

I have done this recently & I can see 3700s in my PI maps. For your reference here is the PI upgrade process I did
