Problem with firmware upgrade of Cisco 2106 WLC

Dear All,
I have issues with upgrading firmware on WLC 2106.
Current firmware is 4.2.205.0 and I needed to move to 7.0.235.3.
When I started the upgrade all was looking fine; TFTP transfer of the image was successful, ;
I got message that Image is written on WLC flash and so on.
When I received message from WLC that all is done and all that is left is simple reboot I decide to check the status of new and old image.
However I found out that I am still having old image in both places (Primary and Secondary):

(Cisco Controller) >show boot

Primary Boot Image............................... 4.2.205.0 (active)

Backup Boot Image................................ 4.2.205.0

Therefore I postponed the reboot for now.

Can someone advise if this is some bug or if anything else can be done.
I tried to find some commands for displaying whole flash directory but I think it is not possible or at least I was not able to find such commands.

I am looking forward for you suggestions.

Regards,
Krasimir

v3 was when they first released the 2106 I believe. My suggestion is to look at this first bullet point on this link as you might be running into this.

I think there is something wrong with the contents of Table 1 in the below url:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn7_0_235_3.html#68333

I think all "3.2.33.0." should be either 7.0.220.0 or 7.0.235.3 i dont know version 3.2.33.0

But maybe you have to go to 7.0.220.0 first and also check the FUS

Hello Scott,

thank you for pointing me to that link.

Indeed issue was due to lack of controller memory. After reboot of WLC upgrade went as expected.

Glad to help!  I'm also glad to see that your 2106 is still up and running!

Did you upgrade the FUS codes?

Leo,

The older controllers don't have a FUS image:)
