Problems using WEP with 1200 Aironet and Linksys Wireless USB Nic

Everything seems to work until I turn on WEP. Linksys's configuation is basic. I've manually typed the hex key of 26 1's just to try and get it to work. I'm using key 1. On the Cisco side, I'm putting WEP encryption to "Mandatory". I use Key 1 and put in the 26 1's and I get no connection. 128 bit encryption and the keys are identical on both ends. Any Ideas?

Try resetting the AP 1200 back to the factory settings and reconfigure the device. You may want to do the same for the Linksys as well.

I'm wondering if you ever got this working...

I have nearly the same setup and I can't get it to work

either. Wireless works until I turn WEP on as mandatory

and then nothing works.

I also used 26 1's as a key and I have done this after

factory reseting the device and do absolute minimal

config changes.

If you got it working I'ld love to hear how you did it.

I never got it to work. I read that it has to be at 40 bit encry. But was still unsuccessful. We decided not to use the WEB and use MAC security and setup a VPN server to authenticate. If you ever get it to work please let me know.
