Problems with 2800 APs on 8.10.181.0

Hello!

Yesterday we updated our Cisco 8540 WLC to 8.10.181.0,

Now we are experiencing trouble with all our Cisco 2802 AP's. The problem we are seeing is very slow down speeds on personal devices connected to the accesspoints while the up speed seems fine when testing. Some sites also seems to work flawless while others don't.

We also have 2700, 1800, 9120 and 9105 AP's on the same WLC which all seems to works fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

The fix may be to change the TCP MSS to 1250 but it is not CSCvw52888.

This is, in fact, CSCwd37092.

I know of this because I have a TAC Case with this exact behaviour.

Is this impacting one particular client or similar client group? If yes, did you try upgrading the drivers?

How did you measure the performance to conclude that downloads are slow?

How was the RF environment of these APs which was causing this issue?

Was the client connected to slot 0 or slot 1 of the AP? (2.4 or 5Ghz)

Do you have FRA enabled? Did you check the radio status of the APs?

Yep @Leo Laohoo is correct of course.
I added the info into my signature as a warning so you'll see it on any of my posts.
At my request TAC have also added a warning to https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/wireless-lan-controller-software/200046-tac-recommended-aireos.html#anc4 now - not sure why they didn't do that as soon as it was confirmed.

A re-build version of 8.10.181.0, to fix the slow speed for the affected APs (2800/3800/4800/1562/6300), will be released in the next 48 hours. 

This re-build will NOT fix the issue with failed EAP authentication due to oversized certificates.

 

  - I suppose  it will get a new suffix version-ending number to denote the fix ?

I think the re-build will be 8.10.181.3.

Yes and no. 

Fixes the slow WiFi speed but will not fix the issue with failed EAP authentication due to oversized certificates.

But I could be wrong.
