Below is the data sheet for the 3500. The PWRING-FIB is not listed as a power source for the device.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps10981/data_sheet_c78-594630.html
• 802.3af Ethernet Switch
• Cisco AP3500 Power Injectors (AIR-PWRINJ4=)
• Cisco AP3500 Local Power Supply (AIR-PWR-B=)
From the data sheet for the PWRING-FIB it's for use with the 1100/1130/1200/1242 series of AP.

it might work. But you woudl be limitiing the AP to 100M, instead of 1G.

A PWR-INJ is not an ethernet extender. If your cabling is more than 100 metres then there goes your 100 or 1000 Mbps. You'll have to operate your WAP at 10 Mbps. If that is the case, why bother putting a WAP in the first place? You'll get more complaints about slow responses than compliments.
