I keep getting the above message trying to install an AIR-CB21AG-E-K9 on a windows xp laptop (fully patched). It fails at the "Cisco Aironet Installation Program" stage, rebooting, uninstalling reinstalling all fails. The only software to run is the wizard "win-client-802.11a-b-g-ins-wizard-v1". There is nothing in the caveats or bug toolkit for this failure. It happens with all our cards as well
thanks

This sounds like an OS failure. May be a reinstallation of the OS will do.

Did you get this working? I am having the same problem. WinXP fully patched, AIR-PCM350 card works fine, but I can't get the AIR-CB21AG software to install.

the problem eventually went away so I dont know what it was, I tried to install a few weeks later and it installed no problem. The laptop was a toshiba but I have installed on others since and no problem at all. Strange

"component transfer error" point to issue with the install shield, could be conflicts with previous installed copy of installed shield. You can rename the installshield folder or delete it. To do so, you can
C:\Program Files\Common Files, remove / rename installshield directory.
Then go ahead and re-install again.
This procedure provided by TAC worked for me.
