Radius mac-filtering in Uppercase username and password format

Hi,

I am not sure that it will support by the Cisco or not. But Currently, I am fighting with two different vendors Cisco and FortiGate. We are going to enable the Radius-based mac address authentication.

Cisco is supplying username and password as clients mac address in lower case and FortiGate will in the upper case. So user authentication is getting failed on one vendor. I have more than 1K users and It is not looking practical to create two different users for a single mac address.

Is there any way on Cisco WLC to change this format from lower case to upper case?

Cisco format is:  00-50-56-c0-00-02

FortiGate format: 00-50-56-C0-00-02

Any solution for this issue?

Regards,

Deepak Kumar

Check this, there might be a solution on FortiGate radius system:

set username-case-sensitive disable

That is if I select the right product.
